Sate police at Emporium did not release the names of the suspects but they report two people were arrested last Monday morning at a home located at 307 S. Chestnut Street on drug charges. Police claim when the drugs were found when they served a felony warrant on a 37 year old male from Waldy Run in Shippen Township. Upon sweeping the residence troopers claim methamphetamine and related paraphernalia were in plain view. A search warrant was issued for the home and troopers claim they found meth and related paraphernalia in the home of a 49 year old womn.
Drug possession charges are being filed in juvenile court against two Tioga County teenagers. Troopers say the staff at North Penn Liberty JR/SR high school became aware that a student sold another student a marijuana sugar cookie. The school staff conducted an internal investigation and upon discovering sufficient evidence notified state polite.
A burglary on Cherry Street in Arnot, PA is being investigated by state police at Mansfield. Sometime between 5:40 am and 1:15 pm last Thursday, a Remington 1100 12 gauge shotgun belonging to a 30 yar old man was taken. The gun has a worn wooden stock and is valued at $500.
Minor injures were reported for a Baltimore MD driver and her passenger in a weather-related accident Saturday morning in Bloss Township. Tioga Colunty. Olufunke Coker was traveling south in an unplowed lane on Route 15 during a snowstorm when her GMC Terrain spun out of control while crossing the Arnot Road bridge. The driver was able to cross the bridge and park in a wide area of the road. Her passenger Navarro Burch also was slight hurt but both declined medical treatment.
DUI charges are being filed against a 56 year old St. Marys man by state police at Ridgway. Troopers ay when a patrol officer stopped to check the welfare of the suspect on Chestnut Street in that town early Saturday morning, they found him passed out behind the wheel of his 2002 GMC Sierra, with the engine running and his foot on the brake. The officer determined the suspect was incapable of safe driving.
Troopers at Lewis Run are investigating criminal mischief to a vehicle parked on Bridge Street in Mt. Jewett last Friday afternoon. Vandals damaged a garage owned by a 55 year old Mt. Jewett man and the door on a 2008 Dodge Ram belonging to a 47 year old Ludlow woman.
