State police at Ridgway have arrested a Johnsonburg  couple for animal cruelty and neglect. Troopers allege 48 year old Ian Benson and 42 year old Amy Benson  moved from the residence at 1022 Water Street Extension in Ridgway township and left behind a dog for three months  with no shelter, food or water and was sleeping on piles of garbage. The dog had extremely protruding ribs, hip bones and vertebrae bones. Charges have been filed in district court. Police did not report if the dog had to be put down or if it is undergoing treatment.

A Wilcox woman is being sought in connection to a physical harassment allegedly taking place Saturday morning at 2284 Mefferts Run Road in Jones Township, Elk County. Authorities claim 34 year old Terra SChloder assaulted 20 year old Madilyn Schloder during an argument but let the scene before police arrived. Anyone who knows of her whereabouts’ is asked to call state police at 814.776.6136.

Troopers at Lewis Run are looking for the driver of a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado which went off of Route 59 near Music Mountain Road intersection at around 3:30 am Saturday and landed in a ditch. The driver left the scene before police arrived. The pick up had to be pulled out of the ditch.

Icy conditions on Pinecreek Road in Delmar Township are blamed for a one-vehicle accident Saturday morning. State police at Mansfield say  as Robert Spong of Wellsboro was cresting a hill, his Ford Ranger slide on the ice covered road and went down a three foot embankment before rolling over onto its room. Spong declined treatment for a minor injury.

A Saratoga Springs man escaped injury in a car/deer collision Christmas morning on Route 15 in Lawrence Township, Tioga County.  Raymond Goss was unable to avoid hitting the deer with his  northbound  Lexus.

DUI charges are being filed against 40 year old Jeremy Rossi of Ridgway after state police pulled his 2001 Jeep over for alleged traffic violations on Lafayette Street  in that town Christmas evening.

Emporium-based state police are looking for the thief or thieves who stole property fron a home on Est Fourth Street in that town Saturday evening. Stolen items included a brake caliper, rotor, personal paperwork and a pinball machine belonging to Richard Housler.
