A 27 year old Ridgway woman has been arrested for stealing $2022.47 worth of merchandise from the St. Marys Walmart. Ridgway based state police claim Southern Shute , on 21 different occasions between October 25 and December 23, failed to scan merchandise at the self check out registers and left the store without paying for the items.

An Austin couple told state police at Coudersport that someone used hacked their cell phone and made purchases on their account earlier this month. The 25 year old woman and 36 year old man told troopers they were unaware anyone had their account information.

DUI charges are pending against a 24 year old Fairfax, VA resident after a one-vehicle crash on Music Mountain Road in Lafayette Township, McKean County Saturday afternoon. State police at Kane say when they investigated they determined the suspect, whose name was not released, had been driving under the influence.

No injuries were reported for a Williamsport driver after a mishap last Wednesday morning in Delmar Township, Tioga County. According to Mansfield based state police, Joshua Day was going south on Route 287 when his Subaru Legacy failed to make a left curve, went off the east side of the road and collided with an embankment.

Two Tioga County residents escaped injury during car/deer encounters recently. A Chrysler Sebring driven by 19 year Nathan Mahonski of Blossburg went off of The Mainsburg Road when he swerved to a void a deer. The sedan hit an embankment, then went up the embankment, became airborne and spun around clockwise before landing on the driver’s side. Rhonda Hults was traveling west on Route 6 near the S. Schodac Road in Richmond Township early Sunday morning when her Chevrolet Cobalt hit a deer.

A hit and run on the Phoenix Run Road in Hector Township last Thursday evening was investigated by troopers at Coudersport. An unknown vehicle, while going south, went crossed the road  and struck a mailbox on the left side of the road. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 814.274.8690.

DUI charges are pending against 21 year old Dylan Bundy of Roulette after he was stopped by patrol officers  early November 26 on Railroad Avenue in the village. State police allege they found Bundy was under the influence while driving his 2001 Ford F-159 XLT and detected an odor of marijuana. A search of the truck turned up some suspected pot and drug paraphernalia

Suspected marijuana and paraphernalia were also allegedly found by Coudersport based state police on the night of November 23 during a traffic stop on |Route 6 West in Eulalia Township. The items were found in a 2000 Toyota driven by 19 year old Christine Martinez of Erie.

Troopers at Emporium say they are continuing to investigate a suspected case of drug possession. The name of a 23 year old woman was not released but troopers claim they seized drug paraphernalia at a residents located at 418 Broad Street in that town.

A 17 year old Port Allegany boy is facing DUI charges. According to troopers at the Coudersport barracks, the youthful driver was ruled over on Route 6 West in Roulette Township on the night of December 5 for equipment violations and was allegedly found to be under the influence of drugs.

Harassment charges are being filed against a 16 year Genesee resident for a domestic violence incident allegedly taking place last Wednesday night on the Hickox Road in Genesee Township. Authorities claim the teen threatened a 43 year old man during an argument.

Cameron County Chamber of Commerce is announcing a Facebook contest running through Monday morning January 7.  Facebook users encouraged to “like” your favorite picture from an Emporium downtown merchant.  “This year the business owners went above and beyond decorating storefront windows,” said Tina Solak, Cameron County Chamber of Commerce director.  The business with the most “likes” will receive a 2019 chamber membership.
