A Coudersport man was bilked out of $1,000 by an internet scam in early March. Troopers explained 63 year old Steven Swords supplied five $200  EBaygift cards while shopping on line for a vehicle.

An unknown cyber criminal talked a Keating Township woman out  of $100 Sunday afternoon. The crook pretended to be a friend of the 27 year old McKean County  and asked her to purchase an iTunes gift card as a favor and said he would pay her back later.

Minor injuries were reported for a DuBois teenager whose compact car wrecked on the Bennetts Valley Highway Saturday evening. William Aughenbaugh, 18, lost control of his Chevrolet HHR when he tried to pass another car while going south. Aughebaugh could not regain control ofhis car and it rolled over several times before stopping. He apparently did not require medical attention.

DUI charges are pending against a Ridgway driver after a one-vehicle crash late Saturday night in Horton Township. According to Ridgway-based state police, David Kennedy’s Ford Explorer went off of Route 219  and collied with a mailbox before traveling through a ditch and residential yard. Kennedy was not  hurt.

A St. Marys teen is also facing DUI charges. Troopers claim when they pulled over 18 year old Travis Weisner on Rasselas Road in Jones Township during the early morning hours, April 1 for summary traffic violations and found he was driving while under the influence of alcohol and being underage. A 15 year old male passenger was also allegedly found to have consumed alcohol.

State police at Emporium claim 56 year old Tina Dunkle was DUI Saturday evening when her Jeep Compass rolled over onto its roof after going off the pavement and into a ditch on Route 555 while headed west. Dunkle reportedly left the scene but was later located and charged for DUI. She as not hurt but was taken to Penn Highlands Elk for a blood draw.

Troopers at the Kane Barracks assert 23 year old Kyle Robinson of Bradford was drunk when they pulled him over at the intersection of West Washington Street just east of Hedgehog Lane in the city Saturday afternoon.

Terry L. PERKINS, 66, of Coudersport, PA, died Sunday, April 15, 2018 in UPMC Cole, Coudersport.  Born August 11, 1951, in Ulysses, PA, he was the son of Dorr A. “Bud” and Edna M. Empson Perkins.  On May 12, 2006, at Colton Point, Wellsboro, PA, he married the former Diane Housler, who survives.  He was employed as an x-ray technician on pipeline construction for many years.  Surviving besides his wife, Diane, are:  two daughters, Becky (Brian) David of Ashland, PA and Kym (Tim) Rice of Wellsboro, PA;  two step-children, Tiffany (Kevin) Gledhill of Coudersport and Lindsay (Derrick) Lathrop of Little Elm, TX;    nine grandchildren, Stephanie, Ashley, Hailey, Ashlyn, Sydney, Aaron, Isaac, Anderson, and Rylee;  his father of Westfield, PA;  two brothers, Gary (Teresa) Perkins of Coudersport and Kenneth J. (Tammy) Perkins of Ulysses;  a sister, Carla Baumgarner of Wellsboro;  nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He was predeceased by his mother;  and a sister-in-law, Melody Perkins.  A memorial gathering will be held on a later date.  Memorials may be made to the Patterson Cancer Center, c/o UPMC Cole, 1001 E. Second St., Coudersport, PA 16915.  Arrangements are entrusted to Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA.

Juanita P. Bump, 91, of Shinglehouse, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, in Wellsville Manor, Wellsville, N.Y., after a lengthy illness.Born on November 21, 1926 in Millport, she was a daughter of Fred E. and Alta G. Healy Fuller.  On June 21, 1975 in Lyndonville, N.Y., she married Robert W. “Bob” Bump, who passed away on November 8, 1999.Juanita attended Chrystal Country School and Shinglehouse High School.  She had been employed as the Shinglehouse correspondent by the Potter Leader Enterprise in Coudersport and at the former Jim & Hilda’s Restaurant in Coudersport. Her greatest love was spending time with her family.  She was a very active member of the Oswayo Valley Senior Center in Shinglehouse and of the Oswayo Valley Historical Society in Shinglehouse.Surviving are a son, Roger N. (Denise “Dee”) Prince of Shinglehouse; a son-in-law, Ronald Good of Wellsville; a sister-in-law, Carol Fuller of Arizona; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, Juanita was predeceased by two daughters, Bonnie L. Shall and Marcia Good; two sons, Ronald H. Prince and Chad A. Prince; a son-in-law, Gregory Shall; a grandson, Luke Shall; a great-granddaughter, Margaret Therese Wargo; and four brothers, Victor P. Fuller, Leon W. Fuller, Dean Fuller and Kenneth Fuller.In keeping with Juanita’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral services.  Private burial services will be held in the Chrystal Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Pastor Fred Kemp of the Potter County Baptist Church, Shinglehouse, will officiate.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oswayo Valley Memorial Library, PO Box 188, Shinglehouse, PA 16748; to the Oswayo Valley Senior Center, PO Box 671, Shinglehouse, PA 16748; or to the Oswayo Valley Historical Society, PO Box 603, Shinglehouse, PA 16748.
